Why Support the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony?

Your donation supports the future of our finest young people through education to appreciate and carry forward the creation of timeless beautiful classical music!

Treasure Coast Youth Symphony (TCYS) is the only orchestral training program for young musicians in most school districts, private, and home schools along the Treasure Coast.

Member musicians receive over 80 hours of instruction during each concert season.

A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, our programs, special projects, scholarships, and grants are paid for by income from performances, tuition, and private donations by individuals, foundations and businesses.

TCYS provides merit scholarships and grants for continuing music education when funds are available. Over the last ten years, the organization has awarded over $100,000 to young musicians on the Treasure Coast.

Offering exceptional opportunities to increase technical skills, artistry, and professionalism, the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony provides the experience of pride and ownership of hard work and accomplishment.

  • Music isn't just a school thing, it's a life thing. When a young person is given the gift of learning an instrument, they take that gift with them through life. From making friends, to coping with the stresses of life, to making amazing music, music provides lifelong benefits."

  • Being a part of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony strengthened my love for music and taught me many technical skills that I would not have been able to learn elsewhere. I learned how to cooperate with other musicians, and dedicate dozens of hours toward reaching a single goal. I absolutely loved my time in TCYS and encourage anyone interested to audition!

  • My time in TCYS was formative for me as a musician and a person, fostering my love for orchestral music and setting me up for my career in music scholarship and performance. And it was really fun! I received my PhD in music theory and cognition at the Ohio State University.

  • The Youth Symphony gave me an opportunity to make music with like-minded friends and explore orchestral repertoire in a serious and supportive environment. I learned what makes a good leader and was able to foster lifelong friendships with my fellow musicians... The Youth Symphony also gave me my first experience of soloing with an orchestra which led me to discover my love of performing and guided my career choices."
